Obituary

Donna Jean Holmes, 72, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Savannah Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.  The family will receive friends and family from 4:00pm-4:30pm with the service following at 4:30pm.  Services will be officiated by Pastor Mark Hudgins. 

Donna was born in Macon, GA on February 1, 1949.  She was married to the love of her life, Frank Holmes, for 47 years.  Donna worked as beautician for many years, she was a social worker at Eastview Nursing Home, and was a fashion specialist at Parisian Department Store in Macon.  Donna was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church, where she was part of the Gift Sunday School Class that she loved so very much.  Donna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tena Towles.  Survivors include her husband, Frank Holmes; sons, Clint (Felicia) Holmes and Rod Holmes, both of Macon;  grandchildren, Lauren, Dylan, Brandon, and Merritt Holmes, all of Macon; a cousin who was like a sister, Betty Youman of Macon, as well as several nephews and cousins.
