Mike passed away in Macon, GA from pancreatic cancer after retiring from his real estate practice in St. Simons, and last to Macon from retirement home in South America. His daughter lives in Savannah and his son recently married (2020) living in Asheville, NC. His son (Mallory) is admiited the Georgia and NC Bar associations. Mike remained close to his ex-wife Tip Barfield (now living in Savannah).
